Thats what Daniel says every time he sees any sort of creature. The children sure enjoyed holding this aging cicada. It looks like some medieval work of art and armor. What an amazing world this is!
That's so cute to call things animals! And actually, that thing deserves the title - it's mammoth! I didn't know cicada's got that big. That picture with all of them is beautiful. What a great group of wonderful kids. Waita take a picture.
I should have posted the picture where the cicada was getting a good, firm grip on Dan's finger -- there was some definite worry in his face! They have the most prickly feet (which is great for traction, but it feels really queer on your skin).
I really marveled at it's coloring. It reminded me of the art in Myst and Riven.
